Maybe at concept how to setting up Internet Connection Sharing on Windows XP is same way as on Windows 7, but because I'm using windows XP before, a bit confuse when I's use Windows 7, Windows 7 interface is very different Interface than Windows XP control panel. I think Windows XP is more easy because they there are have Network Setup Wizard feature on Internet Sharing connection, that not found on Windows 7 like this.
Just follow the instruction to create a sharing connection
you can't find this feature on a version of Windows Vista and Windows 7 .
Here step how to create Internet Connection Sharing (on windows 7)
You're needed :
- 2 piece on Fast Ethernet network interface (LAN Card)
- hub / switch hub if you want to share on 2 PC or more
- UTP Cable / LAN cable (crossover cable for sharing on 2 PC without hub, straight cable for using switch or hub)
open Network and Sharing Center there are 2 Local Area Network. Choose your LAN connection there are have Internet connetion . For example here Local Area Connection interface is connected to Internet . Then on this connection open Local Area Connection status at Click. then property > sharing
check Allow other network users to connect . . . .
Click another LAN Connection that you want to share then property setting up IP to static. (maybe it automatically change to static when you enable the Internet Sharing Connection)
Set your IP, for example
IP address: 192.168.137.1
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
OK
Done. PC has been already to share the connection
For another PC that become to client set IP addres to 192.168.137.2 , 3 or 4 ........,
Default gateway is same IP address first PC 192.168.137.1, DNS same with IP gateway.
Test your connection, with ping or browsing..
Hope this help you ;)
